Thanks for being in touch!

Because we are both a farm and a florist, things can get a little messy around here!  Please give us a couple days to get back to you - our digital universe can be a bit slow while we're in the field, greenhouse or studio!

Speaking Engagements

Speaking Engagements

Samantha is regularly asked to speak at events, meetings and other special occasions. With a vast array of interests, she’s presented on all things flower farming and floral design related, but also on subjects such as forestry, woodland ecology, plant biology, environmental preservation, herbs and herbalism, local history, the restoration of their Gilded Age mansion, non-profit management and fundraising, community gardens and urban agriculture, entrepreneurship and more!

Sam is known for her dynamic and engaging speaking style. Her lectures are well attended and she’s adept at transforming a crowded room into a warm, welcoming place and where everyone leaves feeling empowered and inspired. Examples of past lectures can be found below.

Please reach out to her directly if you have an idea you’re interested in having Sam present on!

For attendees of recent lectures, you can find any promised “show notes” as a down-loadable pdf posted below. And thank you for joining us!

February 19th: The Madison Garden Club of America

At this private lecture for the Madison Garden Club of America, Sam will present her audience with a “greatest hits” of how Fairview Farm and Flowers was created. Looking back on the history of the property, though it’s renovation and then the creation of the Farm, our attendees will have the chance to here Sam’s unique story first hand. Of course, we’ll dive into her favorite flower arranging techniques. Finally, we’ll finish with a hands on workshop! It’s going to be a great morning!

Finding and Securing Funding Sources

Owner of Fairview Farm and Flowers and co-founder of Grow It Green Morristown, Samantha helped transform a littered vacant lot, slated for development, into The Early Street Community Garden. Now preserved and protected, the garden has space for over 100 families to grow their own produce, flowers and herbs. The garden is also a thriving community hub, complete with a public parklet, solar pavilion, ADA-compliant walking path, apiary and more! Creating this magical space required knowing how to find and secure a variety of funding sources. Join Samantha for an in-depth look at a variety of funding opportunities, as well as tips and techniques to help your community garden thrive!
